Childhood asthma training for schools
1 October 2025
Do you want to know more about keeping children and young people with asthma safe while they are at school?
The NHS is inviting school staff in Kent to a live one-hour webinar led by asthma nurse and clinical lead, Samantha Whybrow.
Asthma is one of the most common long-term conditions in children and schools play a vital role in keeping pupils safe. This training is designed specifically for school staff and will provide the essential knowledge to recognise, respond and support children with asthma effectively.
The session will cover:
- How asthma may affect a child’s learning, wellbeing and daily life
- Recognising some of the common triggers that may affect children with asthma
- How asthma medicines work and how different inhalers are used
- Identifying signs that a child may be developing an asthma attack
- Knowing how to respond in an emergency to help a child who is having an asthma attack.
Sign up to attend this free webinar on Wednesday 8 October or Friday 17 October
This training has been accredited by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and supports schools to become accredited as an Asthma Friendly School.
