Primary English Conference 2026

Primary English conference covering reading, writing and oracy, with expert keynotes and practical workshops to inspire effective classroom practice.

Designed for primary teachers, English leads and senior leaders, this conference focuses on inspiring high-quality reading, writing and oracy across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. It offers a rich blend of evidence-informed practice and practical strategies to support both classroom teaching and whole-school development.

Featuring keynote speakers Charlotte Hacking, author and teacher engagement lead at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy, and Victoria Dilly, CEO of the School Library Association, delegates will gain fresh perspectives on effective English teaching and fostering a love of literacy.

Alongside keynote sessions, participants will tailor their experience through a range of practical workshops, while benefiting from opportunities to network and collaborate with colleagues from across the South East.

Topics to be covered include:

  • developing a rich, inclusive reading for pleasure culture
  • strategies to improve reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence
  • supporting early writing in EYFS through play, talk, and texts
  • strengthening oracy to enhance learning across the curriculum
