Professional Resource Group

What is the Professional Resource Group (PRG)

A responsive, locally developed team of professionals include statutory and commissioned services from the Local Authority, health and social care that provide support to schools, children and families. This will be a resource for all schools to promote inclusion and improved outcomes for children and families.

Depending on the context of each Community of School there may be links with third party, voluntary sector and other services that support schools, e.g. local church community groups, parent and SEN charities. These may not be core members of the ‘resource group’ but the team will be aware of them and signpost and work with them as needed for the benefit of the local community.

As a PRG we are committed to:

  • Meeting needs in the area and achieving best possible pupil outcomes
  • Clearly communicating the role of our different services and our offer to schools and how to access.

This:

  • Facilitates a relational approach with individual schools, collectively with the Communities of Schools and with each other within the PRG so that we can be responsive to local needs and context and utilise our resources in an efficient and coherent way for the benefit of the children and young people
  • Promotes a school based and school led system of inclusion and focus on empowering schools, eliciting their own resources, facilitating network meetings to share best practice across schools and within the PRG team
  • Promotes a willingness to share good practice with and learn from other services and teams
  • Commitment to equity and positive outcomes across the area and county as a whole.
