Wards Childrens Awards 2024 - now open for nominations

Since 2003 the awards have shared stories of brave children who have overcome so much, families who defy expectations and charities who support so many in the community.

With six awards open for nominations, Wards, KM and Kent Community Foundation are currently looking for young people, families and charities that have achieved extraordinary things in the face of adversity.

The award categories are:

  • Brave and courageous child of the year
    Celebrating children who are working hard to overcome severe disabilities and illnesses. Two winners will be selected from each age group - age 0 to 8 and age 8 to 16.
  • Young volunteer or fundraiser of the year
    Recognising a child, or group of children, who have done outstanding work to raise money for charity or have selflessly volunteered their time to give back to their community.
  • Young hero of the year
    Celebrating children who have been brave in the face of adversity, this award is seeking a young candidate who has shown real heroism.
  • Exceptional young carer of the year
    This award commends young carers looking after other family members.
  • Outstanding charity of the year
    Recognition for a charity - or voluntary group - that is supporting children facing challenges in life.
  • Courageous family of the year
    This award celebrates the exceptional families in Kent coping with severe illness or disabilities.

Nominations are now open until Friday 10 May 2024.
