Trauma Informed Practice in Kent

9 May 2019

Free training on trauma-informed practice with adolescents.

Kent Youth Justice Service have been funded by the NHS Health and Justice workstream to develop trauma-informed practice within the Kent Children’s workforce, and in particular around young people at risk of offending. As part of this, a series of half-day workshops have been developed for staff working with adolescents so that they can learn about trauma and how this can affect young people.

The training is aimed at professionals who work in schools, staff within Community Safety Partnerships, Youth Justice, Early Help and the voluntary sector. The training will be delivered by Kate Cairns Associates who are experts in the field of trauma. The workshops are free and will be available twice in each District in Kent between June and November 2019

The Trauma Informed Practice in Kent flyer (PDF, 247.2 KB) gives details of the first tranche of workshops which are being held in June 2019. These are in Thanet, Swale, Gravesham, Maidstone and Ashford.

If anyone working with adolescents from these districts wishes to apply for a place on a course, they should use the link in the flyer to book a place.

Places may be limited if demand is too high for the events, but further dates will be announced for the seven other Districts in Kent as well as the second workshop for the five Districts.
