Specialist Teaching and Learning Service (STLS) mainstream school engagement sessions and impact survey

To consider the options for further funding and service priorities after the STLS service level agreements (SLA) end.

The Specialist Teaching and Learning Service (STLS), which operates in each of the 12 districts of Kent, is funded through High Needs Funding. Each district has a separate Service Level Agreement (SLA), with the only variation being the funding allocated to each district.

Although the SLAs are the same, the level of funding varies across districts. The current SLAs will come to an end in August 2025 and so it is time to consider the options for further funding and service priorities after the SLAs end.

As the primary recipients of this service, we are asking for your support to develop and understand these options.

You will be able to get involved in two ways.

1. Online workshops
These sessions will be held remotely and are all the same, and so there is no need to attend more than one.

Mainstream School Engagement Sessions:

  • Tuesday 26 March from 10:30am to 12noon
  • Wednesday 27 March from 11am to 12:30pm
  • Wednesday 17 April from 1pm to 2:20pm
  • Thursday 18 April from 2:30pm to 4pm.

Please confirm your choice by completing the online form. Any problems please contact Rachel.Wallis@kent.gov.uk.

2. Impact survey

We know from the STLS survey we conducted in July 2023 that the service is highly valued. We would now like to have a better understanding of the impact of the service and how it supports children with SEND.

Please complete the STLS impact survey, which should take about six minutes to complete.  It will close at 5pm on Friday 26 April 2024.
