Racial Incidents in Schools Survey 2025-26

We are asking schools to complete the survey with any incidents that occurred in the 2025-26 academic year (between dates 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025 only).

The survey can be found on Kelsi.

If you have been recording your incidents on the monthly "as it happens" survey throughout the year, then you do not need to complete this survey as well. If you are unsure whether your school has submitted data to us already, then please contact us at the email below and we can investigate this for you.

We would encourage all schools to continue to record and report any racial incidents that occur - as you know, the Ofsted framework includes an outcome for whether or not the school meets its statutory safeguarding expectations in full. This will include safeguarding action to protect children from prejudice based bullying and racist abuse.

Aggregated racial incidents data is also requested under the Freedom of Information Act we have had requests regarding schools who did not return the survey in particular years so it is important for all schools to submit a return, even if a nil return.

For those of you who did not have any racial incidents in 2025-26, please go to the survey and enter your DfE number and school name and select the “No” button for the question: “Have there been any incidents in your school between 01/09/2025 and 31/08/2026?”. Alternatively, please contact us on the below email address with your DfE number and ‘Nil Return’.

This website will time-out after 90 minutes so please ensure you complete your submission swiftly. If you have multiple incidents to record that may take you over the 90 minute limit, these can be made across more than one submission if needed.

There is a Print button on the survey that will print all the data you have entered - it will also print confirmation of a nil return. You will need to have enabled "pop ups" on your computer for the print option to work.
