National Education Nature Park grants - funding available for eligible schools
17 July 2026
The Department for Education’s National Education Nature Park programme is helping schools transform outdoor spaces for both people and wildlife while supporting climate and nature education.
Led by the Natural History Museum partnership, the initiative encourages children and young people to map, monitor and improve biodiversity on their school grounds, turning even small or heavily surfaced areas into valuable habitats.
Eligible schools can access grant funding to support projects such as planting trees and wildflowers, creating ponds, improving green spaces and enhancing opportunities for outdoor learning. The programme also provides free resources that link directly to the curriculum and help schools engage pupils in real-world environmental action.
Kent schools are encouraged to check their eligibility and take advantage of this opportunity to create greener, more biodiverse learning environments while supporting their sustainability goals.
