Kent Volunteering Awards

There’s no better time than during national Volunteers Week (1 to 7 June) to celebrate the individuals giving up their time to help their local schools.

Nominations are now open for the brand-new Kent Volunteering Awards to recognise and thank the county’s unsung heroes.

The awards are organised by the KM Charity Team in partnership with third-sector support group Stronger Kent Communities and supported by East Kent College, the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner and the KM Group.

Schools are invited to nominate their governors, PTA members, reader volunteers or indeed any individual or team donating their time to make a difference to the school community.

“These awards celebrate the people who selflessly give their time, skills, and care to support schools and charities,” said KM Charity Team chief executive Simon Dolby. “Anyone can make a nomination and I urge schools to put forward their volunteers - or teams of volunteers - who deserve praise and recognition for all they do.”

The Kent Volunteering Awards will champion educational and health sector volunteering; employer-assisted volunteering schemes, volunteer carers; and community volunteering through clubs, youth groups and charities.

The deadline for submitting nominations is 27 October. To find out more, or nominate, visit the Kent Volunteering Awards website
