Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) Programme - June update

Applications are still open to apply for funding to deliver provision under the DfE Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.

The aim of The HAF Programme is to provide children and young people aged 4 to 16 years, who are entitled to benefits related free school meals, access to 4 weeks of holiday activities that provide the following provision and experiences:

  • food
  • enriching and physical activities
  • nutritional education
  • food education for families and carers
  • signposting and referrals as applicable

The provision does not have to be solely for pupils entitled to FSMs, it can also be available to those paying for their own places. Every partner does not have to offer the full 4 weeks, we will support joint working with other HAF Programmes in the area to make the full offer.

Secondary schools that are delivering summer schools with DfE funding can also apply to us to deliver The HAF Programme, provided the experiences above are being delivered. Those pupils eligible for FSMs can, in effect, be funded by The HAF Programme, enabling the summer school funding to stretch to more pupils or over a longer period.

If you would like to receive an application pack, with more details of funding levels and programme expectations, please email KentHAF@theeducationpeople.org or access application and funding forms directly through Kelsi. Further information on the national programme can be found on the DfE website
