Free KM Charity Team Forum for schools

School representatives can attend a free event next month packed with best practice in literacy, road safety, and more.

Governors and school staff are invited to book their places at the annual KM Charity Team Forum being staged on Friday 13 October. The half-day event is free to attend and designed to share best practice in delivering initiatives focused on literacy, road safety, green travel, health and wellbeing; and Pupil Voice.

Schools involved in the KM Walk to School campaign will find out how to become a Green Champion and encourage children to drive the green travel message. The workshop will also advise schools on how to improve road safety awareness and tackle congestion at the school gates.

Newcomers to Buster’s Book Club can join a masterclass to learn the details of the highly successful scheme, which achieved seven and a half million minutes of reading last academic year, while established schools can offer suggestions to improve the scheme even further.

A workshop run by Charlotte Raby and Emily Guille-Marrett, the founders of Reading Fairy, will offer practical tips and ideas to make reading compelling and fun.

Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team, said: “Come along and find out how the KM Charity Team can support you in your literacy, walk to school, and green travel initiatives as well as your PTA development. Each year, hundreds of delegates attend and enjoy the relaxed and informative event packed with ideas to get schools inspired.”

Delivered via a series of presentations and workshops the KM Charity Team Forum will take place on Friday 13 October at Mercure Great Danes Hotel, Maidstone. To find out more visit the KM Charity Team website or book your free place here
