Calling all Student Photographers

The SPS photography competition is back.

For the past few years Schools’ Personnel Service has released a calendar for use in Schools and Academies. Last year we ran a photography competition to find photos to use for each month, and this year’s calendar we have showcased the winning entries from each season. Due to its success we plan on producing another for the next academic year (September 2017 - August 2018).

We are therefore again running a competition to find images for our next calendar. The competition is open to school children 18 years of age or under.

The theme for our new calendar will be ‘School Life’. This can be anything that you choose, but it is worth remembering these tips:

  • The photos used in the calendar will be Landscape, so your photos should also try and fit to this format.
  • Try and be as creative as possible while showcasing your day-to-day school life, photos could feature anything from your favourite lunch spot in your school grounds to what you get up to in an after school club or scenery from a school trip you’ve enjoyed.
  • All works must be original and your own.

The deadline for entries will be 7 July with winners being announced before the last day of the Summer Term (21 July)

Prizes will be awarded for the top twelve images; prizes will be awarded to the overall competition winner, two short listed runner-up entries and nine highly commended entries.

  • Overall Winner - £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Shortlisted Runner-up’s £25 Amazon Voucher
  • Highly Commended £10 Amazon Voucher

The top entries will be published in the academic year’s calendar, and we will also publish all of the entries on our website

To enter, please visit the SPS website

For each submission, we ask that you include your name, age, a title for the photograph and the name of your school. You are able to submit as many entries and you like however should more than one image be successfully included in the calendar one prize value will be awarded (highest value).

Entries should all be in jpeg format, and ideally at least 1654 x 1102 pixels (approximately 21cm x 14cm at 200 dpi)
