The key messages of the Neuroinclusive Education Network

Vision

Using NEN ‘s autism specialism and expertise to develop wider commitment to leading on good neuroinclusive practice in education.

Mission

  • Meet the demand for training in autism and neurodivergence
  • Extend the reach of our culture change programme
  • Deepen the impact of best neuroinclusive practice across the sector

Together we are shaping a future where every learner can thrive.

The key message of the Neuroinclusive Education Network is:

  1. Autism is a difference - The NEN approaches autism as a different way of being rather than as a ‘deficient’ or ‘disordered’ way of being.
  2. We value the strength that comes with embracing neurodiversity and working in partnership with a network of autism education specialists, autistic people, parents of autistic children, academies and education professionals.

"The Autism Spectrum training was very informative and well structured. It helped me develop a better understanding of autism and how it can affect individuals differently. The examples used were clear and relevant, and I feel more confident in applying this knowledge in practice."
