Kent SACRE Membership: Vacancy for Secondary Headteacher Representative

KENT SACRE are seeking to fill a vacancy for a Secondary Headteacher representative. The representative must be a Headteacher.

Kent SACRE meets publicly three times a year with published minutes and agendas. Their role and responsibilities are as follows:

• To advise the LA on matters concerned with the provision of Religious Education and collective worship in county schools
• To convene an occasional body to produce and recommend an agreed syllabus for RE, called an Agreed Syllabus Conference (ASC)
• To monitor the effectiveness and appropriateness of the agreed syllabus, which is annually reviewed every 5 years
• To deliver an annual report of activities which is submitted to the National Association of SACREs and Kent County Council members

Kent SACRE also publishes guidance and support materials, approves a programme of training for teachers and sponsors or supports other projects which it deems to be consistent with its responsibility to promote religious education and spiritual, moral, social and cultural education in schools.
