Youth Mental Health First Aid in Maidstone

Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind are delighted to be continuing to offer Mental Health First Aid training at subsidised costs throughout 2020 in a continued effort to make mental health training more available to all.

An important part of this is Youth Mental Health First aid - a course which dives into mental health conditions which may be present within young people between the ages of 5 and 19. Over the course of a two-day programme, individuals taking part in this course will learn how to proactively support young people - spotting the signs and symptoms that they may be struggling and responding to those concerns.

This course is perfect for people within a teaching environment, who are likely to encounter young people who may be struggling with their mental health. Not only will it build both knowledge and understanding of different problems, but it will build the confidence to tackle those problems - whilst also providing you with take-away tools to continue to put best practice into place with the young people you work with.

The course may also be popular with parents or carers who are also looking to learn more about mental health.

The course is valued at £300, but MMK Mind are offering it for just £150 per person, with the aim of making this course more accessible for all.

An additional discount is also available for individuals working for charitable organisations.

Current dates include 10 and 17 January 2019, and 3 and 10 February 2019. Both courses will take place from 9:30am to 5pm, and both will run from Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind’s College Road offices (ME15 6YH).
