Updated Fire Safety Logbook

Following the recent development of a Fire Door Check course, the Fire Safety Logbook has now been updated to include a checklist which can be used to record fire door checks. If you are responsible for managing any KCC buildings, you should be aware that the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that fire resisting doors are kept in efficient working order and good repair. In order to do this, you need to ensure that your fire doors are being checked regularly.

The updated logbook also now includes a recommended ‘grab bag’ contents list. Grab bags should contain information and items that will be useful during an emergency evacuation. The bag will contain information that will also assist the Fire and Rescue Service when they arrive on site. Your grab bag should be easily accessible, easy to carry and located on the route of escape and taken with you when you evacuate the premises.
