Test and Trace Support payments

The Government has implemented changes to support parents and guardians of children who have been asked to self-isolate.

The changes mean that a parent or guardian of a child that must self isolate because they have been in contact with someone that has tested positive with Covid-19, can apply for the Test and Trace Support Payment. The support payment is in place to provide financial support to a parent or guardian because they must stay home to look after their child and cannot work because they are unable to work from home.

The Council will be contacting schools to confirm that a child has been told to self-isolate where the parent or guardian has made a claim for a Test and Trace Support payment.

It is very important that schools work with the Council to confirm the child has been told to self isolate so the payments to parents or guardians are not delayed.

Applicants are required to meet the standard eligibility criteria for the Main Scheme or Discretionary in order to receive the payment - it is not an automatic payment.
