Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention Strategy 2026-2030 consultation
1 August 2025
The Kent and Medway Suicide Prevention Team (based within KCC’s Public Health) have been putting together a new strategy, to replace the existing one which will come to a close at the end of this year.
We are pleased to share that the draft of the new Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention Strategy 2026-2030 is now out for public consultation, so that you can have your say.
The vision of the new draft strategy is that Kent and Medway becomes a place where the number of people dying by suicide is reduced as much as possible. Our specific aim is for the Kent and Medway suicide rate to be below the national average by 2030 (if not sooner) and our mission is that Kent and Medway is a place where hope is always available to anyone, no matter what they are facing.
We invite you to review the draft strategy and supporting data and evidence pack and share your views in collaboration with system partners, residents, and the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.
The consultation closes on Monday 6 October 2025. For more information, including the consultation documents and the online questionnaire, please visit Let’s talk Kent
