Speech Bubbles - free CPD sessions for KS1 staff

As part of the Speech Bubbles programme, free CPD training on Creating a Communication-Friendly Classroom is available.

These are fantastic sessions where Speech Bubbles share parts of their practice with your staff to help create a communication-friendly classroom. These were hugely successful last year, with many schools feeding back that they have been using these techniques in their lessons to great effect.

There are standard and top-up sessions available.

About the session

This session will be 1.5 hours in length after the school day for participating schools and your KS1 staff and is free to take part as part of the programme!

Run by two Speech Bubbles practitioners visiting you at school, school staff will learn the skills and tools practiced in Speech Bubbles sessions to take into classrooms. The aim is to inspire school staff using drama tools for great communication between adults and students, children and their peers and embed this learning in the school.

Top-up session

If your school took part last year, they offer a 45-minute top-up session.

The objectives of the training:

  • Identify connection between communication theory models, positive interaction and supporting children’s communication
  • Consider barriers to communication for children in the classroom
  • Experience a range of creative activities
  • Plan a creative activity to support communication in the class.

The aim is for their drama practitioners to share these ideas taken from Speech Bubbles practice with your staff to help with the following:

  • All children become more active and engaged communicators
  • Classrooms become a great communication space for everyone
  • Teaching staff more confident to support communication
