Schools Causing Concern Protocol publication now available
26 April 2016
We are pleased to announce the publication of the Education and Young People's Services Schools Causing Concern Protocol.
The Schools Causing Concern Protocol publication takes into account the Education and Adoption Act, March 2016 and revised statutory guidance for Local Authorities and the Regional Schools Commissioner, March 2016.
The protocol explains the processes for identifying schools where there are concerns and what additional support can be expected. It has been developed in consultation with the Kent Association of Headteachers. The aim is to enable all schools to become self-improving and self-sustaining. The protocol clarifies:
- The roles and responsibilities of schools, LA and the Regional Schools Commissioner
- The criteria used to identify underperformance
- The support, challenge and where appropriate, intervention for schools.
