Private Fostering Week (6-10 July)

School staff play an essential role in identifying privately fostered children. To coincide with Private Fostering Week (6-10 July) we would like to remind all staff that are aware a child is being privately fostered to inform the parent/carer that they must report the arrangement to Kent County Council.

All private fostering arrangements lasting more than 28 days need to be reported to Kent County Council at least six weeks before it happens or within 48 hours if the arrangements have been made in an emergency.

To help raise awareness, The Private Fostering Association has provided Ten Top Tips for Education Authorities.
