ootiboo: Tales from the Forest

A free creative project for primary school children that connects Winnie-the-Pooh to the conservation of his real-life home of Ashdown Forest.

Winnie the Pooh - Tales from the Forest book cover

ootiboo is bringing the world of Winnie-the-Pooh to the classroom through Farshore’s brand new story collection for 5 to 9-year-olds, Winnie-the-Pooh: Tales from the Forest. The project will highlight the real-life inspiration for the book, Ashdown Forest, and the conservation efforts to protect the ecology and inhabitants of this very special environment.

Children can also be part of a special installation by decorating eco-friendly leaves with natural wax crayons; these will be used to build our very own Tales from the Forest Tree of Trees, coming to Ashdown Forest in Easter 2024. The creative activities for the project are supported by a comprehensive lesson plan and supporting resources.

Schools can register interest now to take part in the project. The main activity craft packs are sent out on a first-come, first-served basis. Closing date for registration is Friday 2 February 2024.

Schools can still be involved in the project if they miss the Friday 2 February deadline but please note that they will not be part of the installation activity if the registration takes place after that date.
