New survey by young people from KYCC mental health campaign

Do you care about young people’s mental health?

Recently a report from Young Minds showed that only 38% young people feel comfortable talking to parents and carers about mental health; meanwhile 35% parents worry they’ll make things worse by talking about it.

The mental health campaign group of KYCC created two surveys to find out if these statistics hold true in Kent, one for parent and carers and another for young people. We would like to know how confident and comfortable parent and carers and young people feel discussing mental health with each other. We hope to use this data to encourage parents to start these difficult conversations with their children and will share recommendations with services and schools about how to help.
