Letter from Lord-Lieutenant to schools - Green Tree Badge

For The Love of Trees – a nationwide mission to get one million children to learn more about trees, run by Royal Forestry Society and Bags of Ethics.

As His Majesty The King’s Representative in the County, I have been asked to contact all Kent schools to circulate details of the Green Tree Badge.

Following the millions of trees that were planted for The Queen’s Green Canopy, this initiative is focused on supporting our future generations to actively engage with trees in a fun and compelling way led by some of the world’s leading foresters and conservationists.

The programme is engaging with community groups, uniformed groups (The Scouts) and schools across the country. The target age group is five years to 13 years old.

For more information, please look at the Bags of Ethics website

If your school might be willing to participate in the project, that would be wonderful. The schools will have a bespoke pack created for them by educational specialists. For schools in high pupil-premium areas there are some free donated copies if anyone wants to apply.

Please watch this video about the programme and do contact the Green Tree Badge team at smruti@supreme-london.com or Christopher Williams at Christopher.Williams@rfs.org.uk if you have any questions or any ideas for support.

The campaign hopes to get more media, corporate and partnership support, and host events across the country in spaces of natural beauty for children to come and look at some beautiful trees.

Please do help if you can.
