LESAS Child Protection Newsletter for Designated Safeguarding Leads in education settings - edition 1

Edition 1 of LADO Education Safeguarding Advisory Service (LESAS) Child Protection Newsletter for Designated Safeguarding Leads in education settings for 2025-26 has been published.

This edition features updates from LESAS, including updated policy templates and upcoming DSL network meetings, key national and local safeguarding information for early years settings, schools and colleges, including New Ofsted toolkits and KSCMP updates and online safety updates and other national and local resources to support DSLs in schools, colleges and early years provision.

This year, we are trialing a new format using Microsoft Sway, which offers a more interactive and accessible way to share updates, guidance and safeguarding resources. For those who prefer a printable version or wish to share the newsletter in staff briefings or meetings, the Sway can be exported to PDF by following these steps:

• Open the Sway using the link above.
• Select the three dots (***) in the top-right corner of the Sway window.
• Select Export from the dropdown menu.
• In the export dialog, choose PDF.
• The exported file will be downloaded to your Downloads folder.

The LESAS team hopes DSLs find the newsletter useful and relevant to their work.
