Last chance to register - be a polling station for KYCC elections
6 October 2025
The Kent Youth County Council (KYCC) elections are nearly here - and we’re calling on schools across Kent to help bring youth democracy to life by registering as official polling stations.
From Monday 10 November to Sunday 23 November 2025, young people aged 11 to 18 will vote for their KYCC representatives - bringing youth voice and leadership to the forefront during UK Parliament Week.
By signing up as a polling station, your school or organisation will:
- Enable young people to take part in a real democratic process
- Support youth leadership and representation across Kent
- Host online and/or paper ballot voting to make participation accessible
- Contribute to a county-wide initiative amplifying youth voices on key issues like:
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Public transport
- Feeling safe in Kent
- Tackling poverty and Free School Meals
“We see it as a real opportunity not just to host the KYCC elections, but to support the citizenship curriculum and encourage active participation.” - Highworth Grammar School for Girls.
It’s quick and easy to register - just complete a short form at the KYCC elections website
The deadline to register as a paper ballot polling station is Monday 13 October 2025 at 12pm.
Please note you can register to host online elections up until the end of the month.
If you need support or have any questions, please contact the KYCC team at kycc@kent.gov.uk.
