Key Stage Data Collections Guidance Notes

2022 editions are now available to download.

Guidance notes regarding the completion and submission of the 2022 statutory EYFSP, Phonics, KS1 and KS2 Teacher Assessments are now available to download from Cantium.

If you have a support contract they can be found on the Cantium website

If you do not use ESS (Capita) SIMS, please contact your supplier for details on how you can enter the statutory pupil level data for each key stage and create the return XML file(s).

Guidance on the eligible outcomes for each key stage and information on how to return your EYFS, Phonics and KS1 files to Management Information can be found on the
key stage data collections page.

Guidance on how to submit for KS2 will be available on the same page as soon as the Primary Assessment Gateway opens for submissions.

Last Submission Dates

  • EYFSP - Thursday 30 June 2022
  • Phonics - Tuesday 21 June 2022***
  • KS1 TA - Tuesday 28 June 2022
  • KS2 TA - Tuesday 28 June 2022**

** As in previous years Management Information will not be collecting, cleansing or forwarding to the Primary Assessment Gateway any KS2 Teacher Assessment outcomes in 2022. Instead, all schools will have to submit their own data to the Primary Assessment Gateway and amend any errors by Tuesday 28 June.

*** This year, SIMS schools will need to return two files, one for year 1 and one for year 2 retakes. There are separate options for the two years when you create your CTFs – details are included in our How to Enter 2022 Phonics Threshold and Missing Y2 Scores (PDF, 220.1 KB)” document. For schools who do not use SIMS, please contact your supplier for guidance.

It is our intention to provide schools with a pupil level report of the data they have submitted (EYFSP, Phonics and KS1 only) before the final DfE deadlines. This is to ensure that there are no data entry errors that will be carried forward into your School Summary Reports and ASP.

Once we have processed your data, a pupil level file will be transferred to you through Perspective Lite. We will email you at the same time to let you know the file has been uploaded.
