Kent Youth County Council (KYCC) elections 2023

Kent Youth County Council is recruiting! KYCC provides an opportunity for young people aged 11 to 18 years to represent their school countywide and get involved in campaigning on the issues important to young people.

Over the last year KYCC Members have been campaigning on Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing, Environmental Awareness, Feeling Safe in Kent and Free School Meals and Tackling Poverty. Projects have included designing and launching the Mental Health Friends Handbook, planning an upcoming litter pick and submitting evidence to a Government Select Committee on young people and vaping in Kent.

This year’s KYCC elections will take place from 6 to 19 November, to coincide with UK Parliament Week! A great opportunity to bring Parliament Week to life with the youth elections! Schools can sign up to get involved by completing a short form. Elections will take place online and by paper ballot, which will be delivered direct to schools.

Young people can sign up to get involved and be a candidate at the KYCC elections website

Deadline for registration is Sunday 15 October 2023.
