Kent Youth County Council election results
11 December 2023
In November 19,400 young people aged 11 to 18 years got involved and voted in the Kent Youth County Council elections, deciding their local KYCC Members and the most important issues for young people in Kent.
Thank you to everyone who supported young people to vote or to put themselves forward as candidates. The top three issues as voted for by young people, which will be the KYCC Campaigns for 2024 are:
- Free School Meals and tackling poverty
- Public transport
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing.
On Saturday 9 December, the new KYCC Members met for the first time, with 99 young people taking over County Hall, sharing their ideas for the campaigns, developing further project work, and getting to know each other.
To find out more about each of the newly elected KYCC Members or for further opportunities for young people to get involved please go to the Kent Youth County Council website.
