Green School Awards 2025

The Green School Awards 2025 were held on Friday 28 November 2025, at the Ashford International Hotel.

Nominations were received from schools all across the county, out of which 34 winners were selected. Each of the 34 winners received certificates for their outstanding “Green Initiatives” including:

  • tree planting
  • produce growing (and donating to students, families, school kitchens and food banks)
  • beekeeping
  • creation of nature reserves, wildflower meadows, bug hotels and bird hides
  • creation of forest schools
  • composting
  • energy conservation projects
  • beach cleans
  • litter picking
  • pre-loved clothes, school uniform and book sales
  • “Active Travel” - walking, cycling and scooting.

From the 34 winners, 11 were recognised with additional awards as detailed below.

These awards serve as an excellent way to not only celebrate the achievements of the young people of Kent and Medway, but to share ideas and initiatives too. Some schools brought along exhibits to a “show and share” session prior to the awards ceremony. Many produced videos that were shown during the ceremony, allowing everyone present an insight into the impressive work carried out within the respective schools and colleges. It was a joy to see the children and adults present enthusiastically sharing ideas and initiatives.
