Fund raising for Kelly Turner
22 November 2016
Can your school help with raising funds for Kelly's treatment in the USA?
Kelly Turner was diagnosed in October last year with a rare teenage cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumours. She has been told that she only has two years to live and that no NHS hospitals can provide Surgery and Immunotherapy. Yet Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York, USA, has agreed to carry out all procedures but at a price of $1.2m - approximately £1m.
She has been supported admirably by many schools in Dover, Deal and Folkestone with many fundraising events, including non-uniform days.
Kelly is currently taking her GCSE exams at St. Edmund's Catholic School in Dover, and her grandfather was the Headteacher at a school in Dover for 27 years.
We would like to invite all Kent schools to take part in the fundraising by holding a charitable non-uniform day or other fundraising event, with funds being paid to the Kelly Turner Fundraising account, details of which are in the poster below.
