Free Mental Health Support for Young People with Learning Difficulties

Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind are offering free support for students who may be struggling with learning difficulties thanks to funding from Children in Need.

This support is delivered in the manner of a specially-adapted version of our pre-existing ‘Managing Me’ programme, a course which supports young people as they learn more about common mental health problems like anxiety, stress and depression; and how they can better manage those feelings.

The specialised version for individuals with Learning Difficulties, known as ‘Managing Me ASD’, will take the core course content and refine it, so that young people are supported as they progressively begin to understand what they are feeling; and how they can better control those feelings and emotions to avoid them becoming overwhelming.

This course will last for 6 weeks and takes on a peer-to-peer support format.

It is appropriate for young people between the ages of eleven and sixteen.
