Free KCC Emergency Planning, Business Continuity Planning and Prevent webinar

A recording of the countywide Webinar held on Monday 4 July 2022 is now available.

This webinar is aimed at the headteachers, members of school SLT and business managers of all primary, secondary, special schools and PRUs in Kent. It provides an overview of the services and resources available to schools in Kent to enable them to plan for, mitigate, respond to and recover from emergencies or serious incidents that could negatively impact the operation of a school. The webinar may also be of use to Governors and other stakeholders who have responsibility for such areas.

A lot of new information and advice has been developed over the last two years, following the Covid challenges and the potential for disruption due to transport difficulties. The national and county advice for schools has been updated and some specific resources and services have also been overhauled or updated, with some new resources being created.

The webinar is hosted by:

  • Ian Watts, Chair of the KCC CYPE Resilience Group.

Supporting Ian are:

  • Nick Wilkinson, Prevent and Channel Strategic Manager
  • Adam Feacey, Senior Resilience Officer, KCC Emergency Planning and Resilience Service
  • David Hart, Vice Chair, KCC CYPE Resilience Group

The subjects covered in the webinar include:

  • Security - Context and National Security Risk
  • Prevent
  • Statutory Duties and Responsibilities
  • New issue of the Emergency Planning for Kent School guide
  • Emergency Planning Learning Modules
  • Business Continuity Planning
