Everyday Active Schools

Active Kent and Medway’s Everyday Active Schools programme supports schools in embedding a whole school approach to whole school improvement through physical activity.

Research shows that a physically active school environment can lead to improvements in attendance, behaviour and attainment levels, helping schools achieve key priorities. With only 51% of children and young people across Kent achieving the recommended 60 minutes of daily exercise, schools have the opportunity to make a huge difference!

The free programme begins with an initial workshop for all school staff, highlighting the importance of children being physically active, discuss how the school currently supports their pupils to be physically active and identify seven key areas where further opportunities for physical activity can be developed. Following the workshop, each school will work towards their own bespoke action plan whilst receiving ongoing support, resources and opportunities across the academic year.
