Childnet's Annual Film Competition 2015

Enter a fantastic competition from Childnet for 7-18 year olds to create a film about online safety.

Childnet is inviting all schools and youth organisations across the UK to enter their annual film challenge. Open to all young people aged 7-18 across the UK, Childnet's competition is looking for creative short films which focus on positive and inspiring use of the internet and mobile technology. However, this year welcomes an additional category in the secondary schools challenge as Childnet have teamed up with the UK's premium rate phone numbers and phone-paid services regulator, PhonepayPlus to run their PhoneBrain competition. PhoneBrain is a competition which focuses entirely on issues relating to mobile phones and the bill shock that can be accidentally or unwittingly attached.

This year there is one primary and two secondary categories in place and Childnet will be awarding the best entries with some fantastic prizes (including a Canon DSLR camera and green screen) for their school or youth group. All finalists will be invited to a private screening and celebratory event at London's BFI on Monday 13 July.

Childnet are asking primary aged entrants are to create a 60 second film in response to the question: "A good online friend is someone who...". Secondary aged entrants are being asked to create a 2 minute film in response to the statement "A better internet is up to us!" and in the Phonebrain category "App traps & Bill shock – do you know how much your phone is costing you?"
