Bucket loads of fun for writing contest winner

Competition launched during National Storytelling Week gives Primary school pupils the chance to win the top job at Diggerland theme park.

One lucky pupil will have the chance to spend a day in charge of Diggerland, which boasts more than 20 drives and rides from excavators, dumper trucks and JCBs to go-karts, mini 4x4s and dodgems.

All entrants need to do is handwrite a description of a walk to school - who did they walk with and what did they talk about? What sights, sounds and smells did they experience along the way?

The competition is a great activity to complete in school or over the half term break.

To enter, simply download the entry form at the KM Charity Team website

Entries must be handwritten on the entry form and these can be sent by post or scanned and emailed as long as they are received by the 2 March deadline.

The winning child will get to explore the Diggerland site, instruct staff on their activities for the day, work with the marketing department, check the stock in the shop ‑ and even get to work some of the equipment at the venue.

The Be the Boss contest is run by KM Charity Team, an independent charity providing services for schools such as the home-reading scheme Buster’s Book Club and green travel programme Active Wow.

Both schemes encourage friendly competition with whole classes competing for a Reading or Green Class of the Week Trophy. Regular walking or reading challenges offer prizes including tickets to leisure attractions, a story time with a celebrity or school visits by organisations ranging from Kingswood adventure to Creepy Claws.
