Bids for Funding from the Kent Association of Headteachers 2016-17

The Schools Funding Forum has provided a further sum for the Area Boards of the KAH to allocate in response to bids from collaborations of schools.

The funding is intended to enable schools to improve and innovate, in accordance with identified priorities. One of the measures of success has been the raising of schools’ grades in Ofsted inspections. In March 2016 a survey of the use of the funding for 2014/15 showed that 409 Kent schools had benefited. The impact of the funding has been powerful. For example, by the date of the survey the grants had helped 57 Kent Primary schools to improve their Ofsted outcomes. Between April and July 2016, 20 more have gained higher grades following inspections, most having been supported with grants.

Details of the 2016/17 criteria for each Area can be found in its section in the KAH pages of KELSI, which also provides guidance on use of the new bid template. To find the priorities for collaboration bids, please go to the bid template, select the type of application (collaboration), the Area and the year, and the priorities will appear on the form.

The forms for final reports on successful bids made in 2015/16 should be returned to your AEO, either by 30 September 2016, or when submitting a bid (if this is at an earlier date.) A copy of the final review 2015-16 form can be found in your Area’s pages on KELSI.
