Betjeman Poetry Prize

A poetry competition open to 10-13 year old in the British Isles and Republic of Ireland

1st Prize: £1000 (£500 to winner and £500 to the English department of school Winner). The winner will also be crowned St Pancras Laureate for the year!

2 runnersup:  £50 each.

The top three poets each receive four standard class Eurostar tickets to Paris, Brussels or Lille.

Highly commended entrants receive a book token.

In addition to prizes for individual finalists, six one-day poetry workshops with leading poets will be awarded to schools entering the competition.

Theme of 'place': 'your favourite park, or building, beach or a street; capture in words what that place means to you'.

Deadline Date:  31 July 2015

Prize giving: upper concourse, St Pancras International, National Poetry Day, on Thursday 8th October.
