Reminder to all primary schools to look out for the new change4life resources coming soon!

To support the January Change4Life Sugar Smart consumer campaign the Public Health Team will be sending out teaching resources with the School Fruit and Veg Scheme (SFVS).

Primary schools will receive these teaching packs in January or early February, depending on when their SFVS delivery arrives.

Developed by educational experts, these curriculum-linked resources encourage pupils to become Food Detectives and to learn about sugar and 5 a Day. Each school that is part of the SFVS will receive:

  • 1x KS1 pack and 1x KS2 pack - both containing a lesson plan, extension activities, homework and reward stickers.
  • 220x parent packs to put in pupils' book bags containing a leaflet and some stickers. The leaflet encourages downloads of our Sugar Smart app to find the amount of sugar lurking in food and drinks.

Spread the news!

  • Ask teachers in your area to look out for their yellow Change4Life box containing the packs, by forwarding this email on to them. They can order additional packs on the Change4Life School Zone, a new online hub for primary schools.
  • Suggest that they subscribe to the School Zone mailing list, so we can keep them up to date with the campaign.
