Get rewarded for recycling WEEE

Trial 'WEEE Bank' challenge - Get rewarded for recycling WEEE.

Collect Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and receive a Kent County Supplies voucher for every tonne you recycle!

'WEEE Bank' is a new recycling challenge being trialled by KCC Waste Management. It is similar to the 'WEEE Recycle' challenge you may have heard of or even participated in previously. However, with WEEE Bank you are guaranteed a reward as long as you recycle!

We are looking for just 6 primary schools to take part in this exciting new recycling trial, so if you are interested,  please register your school as soon as possible, as places will be offered on a first come first served basis.

Take part

We ask you to host one of our pink WEEE skips for a period of up to 5 months and fill it with as much WEEE as possible, as regularly as possible!  You can do this by encouraging parents/carers, pupils, staff and the local community to bring you all their old and broken electrical items including hairdryers, toys, vacuum cleaners, electric toothbrushes, toasters, microwaves, kettles, TV's, electrical gadgets and even washing machines, to name a few! Anything that takes batteries, or has a plug can be recycled!

For every 1 tonne of WEEE collected, you will receive £50 worth of Kent County Supplies vouchers to buy equipment for your school; anything from paint and glue to whiteboards and benches!

Find out more and register

Read the flyer for more information and read the terms and conditions. This is a trial challenge available initially to 6 primary schools. We require participating schools to actively promote the challenge and encourage WEEE Recycling. We would expect to provide regular collections. If your school is up to the challenge, please book early to avoid disappointment.

Registration will be offered on a first come first served basis. To book or for further information please contact us at wastecoordination@kent.gov.uk or call 03000 413321.
