Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind offering free Mental Health Training to 16 to 24 year olds this January

In January, Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind are delivering a free Youth MHFA One-Day course to young people in Maidstone who are looking to learn more about mental health.

The one-day course, developed by Mental Health First Aid England, is designed to provide individuals with an understanding of common mental health problems and the impact which they can have on young people. It aims to develop skills and knowledge to support wellbeing, whilst also enabling young people to spot the signs of someone who may be struggling with mental ill health - enabling them to signpost that person to a place where they can access support.

This course is usually valued at £200 per person, but MMK Mind are offering it to young people for free as a means of increasing knowledge in young people and encouraging a positive and proactive attitude towards mental health.

This training will take on 24 January 2019 and will run from 9:30am till 4:30pm at Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind (ME15 6YH).

Any individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 who are interested in this course can either signup using the MMK Mind website, or by emailing training@mmkmind.org.uk.
