Aspiring Professionals Programme (APP)

The APP supports high achieving Year 12, S5 or Lower Sixth students from low income backgrounds across the UK to access top universities and careers.

We offer support through our four pillars:

  1. Mentoring by a professional
  2. Tailored skills sessions and career workshops
  3. University application support and guidance
  4. Internships with top employers.

How students receive our four pillars of support is dependent on where they live. Please see below for further details of the programmes we offer.

Students must apply by 12noon on Friday 13 December 2024 by completing our application form

“Honestly one of the best things I have ever done, not just in terms of the career insight and experience, but also the friends I had made from the programme” - John, 2023 Cohort

  • Each year, at least 60% of SMF students go onto Russell Group universities
  • 98% of students in 2021 said they wouldn’t have got their internship without the help of the SMF
  • IFS Studies show that the scale of our impact on elite university entry is akin to a candidate having 3 A*s at A-Level rather than 3 As.
