Getting it right with responsive teaching: KS1
A hands‑on KS1 conference focused on responsive, in‑the‑moment teaching to maximise learning impact.
Our primary KS1 conference, aimed at headteachers, teachers and teaching assistants, will focus on ‘teaching in the moment’, and is set to be a hands-on, high-energy day! We will explore responsive teaching in action, offering practical techniques and usable strategies that can be applied straight away to improve learning in the classroom. You will develop confidence in assessing learning as it happens, making sense of pupils’ responses and adapting teaching responsively to maximise impact for all learners.
Our keynote speaker for the day is widely experienced trainer and leader Isabella Wallace. Isabella will be joined by George Hawkins, Senior Improvement Adviser, who will be exploring what are hinge questions, and how to successfully use hinge questions.
You will leave with:
- a sharper eye for identifying misconceptions early, along with the confidence to use hinge questions effectively
- greater confidence in using formative assessment as part of everyday teaching
- skills to embrace the power of the pivot, making informed adjustments that maximise learning in real time
- a wealth of classroom-ready strategies.
