A message from Matt Dunkley CBE:

21 June 2019 weekly update

21 June 2019

This week, Matt introduces proposed changes to the methodology for calculating Alternative Provision funding in Kent.

Dear Colleagues

Alternative Provision Funding in Kent

The Schools’ Funding Forum are meeting on Thursday 27 June and one of the items on their agenda relates to changes to the methodology for calculating Alternative Provision funding in Kent. This is an important item and I wanted to draw your attention to the associated papers which are now available to read on the Schools’ Funding Forum meetings page.

View the proposed changes here (PDF, 1.2 MB).

The changes we are seeking to introduce from 1 September 2019 were subject to a consultation in November 2018, and have been followed up with a number of meetings with school and pupil referral unit representatives. We are grateful to all those who have worked with us to get to this stage.

Please can I use this opportunity to remind you that the Forum represents the views of all schools in Kent and therefore if you have any comments on this specific subject, and more broadly any other comments on school funding, please can you feed these through to the most appropriate Forum member.
