Change of school hours

If schools are considering changing the times their school opens or closes, they should in the first instance, complete the Proposed Change of Hours Form (PCSH) (PDF, 13.2 KB).

This form must be completed and returned to the Local Authority giving at least two terms' notice before any changes are due to start. Schools will be notified of any implications that the changes to the school times may have on their existing transport arrangements, which may also incur additional costs that the school would have to cover. These additional costs may be, for example, where transport is shared between more than one school and additional transport would have to arranged as not all of the schools will share the same school hours. This would also include any children travelling to and from school in hired vehicles which also transports children attending other schools.

Inset days
pink line

When schools are aware of when their inset days will be set, they should inform Transport Integration by calling 03000 414141 or emailing public.transport@kent.gov.uk. This means that contractors can be contacted and advised that transport would not be required for those particular days and the Local Authority would not be charged.
