Primary and nursery pupils in Kent and Medway have the chance to professionally record a single and earn a gold disc for their school.

Schools, choirs or groups of school friends can enter the annual KM Walk to School Song Contest. Up to five groups of finalists will be invited into the recording studio of Canterbury based Independent Music Productions in the annual competition run by the KM Charity Team.

This year's song is 'Walking On Sunshine' by Katrina And The Waves and entrants have the choice to tweak the lyrics they sing to reflect the walk to school message or stick to the original words.

Simon Dolby, chief executive of KM Walk to School, said: "This is such a fun educational initiative and enables the finalists to experience first hand the thrill of being in a real recording studio."

A judging panel made up of music industry experts will select the finalists and pick the eventual winner. Thewinners will be invited to perform at two KM Charity Team events in 2016 and be presented with a framed disc by IMP.

Entries need to be received by noon on Wednesday, June 3. Successful finalists will be in the studio in July 2015 and the winner announced the following week. Find out more on the KM Charity website.
