Fostering and adoption

We recognise that a child's needs are best met by a nurturing family and we are committed to placing children, who aren't able to remain within their own family, in an appropriate alternative family placement wherever possible.

How can schools help?

Kent County Council needs to recruit more foster carers. Schools can help simply by including articles in their parent newsletters, by putting a page about fostering on their school website or just by linking to the Kent Fostering website from their school website.

Also, if you have a social media presence (school or personal) it would be great to give Kent Fostering a mention and encourage people to find out more by visiting the Kent Fostering website.

We've prepared a short newsletter article or web page copy for you to use right now. But if you'd like to discuss how your school could get more involved in helping to recruit Foster Carers in Kent, then please email us at marketing@kent.gov.uk
