Sufficiency and sustainability

The Early Years and Childcare Service is committed to improving the sufficiency and sustainability of Early Years provision for children aged 0 to 4 and out of school childcare for school aged children universally up to the age of 14 and age 18 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and/or who are in the care of the local authority.

Our countywide team of Childcare Sufficiency Officers (CSOs) are available to offer advice, support and guidance to both new and existing providers on a range of business matters including:

  • business planning
  • financial management
  • marketing.

Our CSOs are also available to offer advice on legal structures and registration when setting up a childcare business and can provide particular support on committee matters ensuring that you understand the roles and responsibilities of childcare charities.
