This week, Christine updates on the inspection of children services in Kent and the DfE Safety Valve programme.
Dear Colleagues,
On Friday DCS Matt Dunkley received ‘the call’ from Ofsted which signalled the start of the Inspecting Local Authority Children Services (ILACS) so we have all been busy with the final preparations prior to our first formal presentation to the team on Monday.
Our other priority has been working on the High Needs Funding Block Deficit Recovery Plan ready for our meeting with DfE as part of the national Safety Valve programme. Many thanks to Headteacher colleagues that have been involved in this work, particularly the High Needs Funding sub-group of the Schools Funding Forum and KCC Finance Business Partner Karen Stone, for leading. I was really pleased to meet with the KAH Executive this week which has brought me up to speed with concerns being raised by schools and MATs.
