This week, Christine updates on the government's SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan.
Dear Colleagues,
This week the government published the long awaited and ambitious SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan, Right Support, Right Place, Right Time. The National Association for Special Educational Needs (nasen) has also published this handy guide which summarises the key points.
We are considering the contents but on first reading the contents do reflect the direction of travel for Kent and we will be seeking opportunities to get involved in any pilot activities.
The first two of our spring term headteacher briefings took place this week, in Gravesham and Ashford. Thanks to those of you that attended and also to our external speakers Neerasha Singh, Chair of the High Needs Funding Sub-Group of the School Funding Forum and colleagues from the DfE Dame Kate Dethridge, Paul Schofield, Joe Field and Abda Hussain.
